I completely stripped the vehicle to bare metal as there was much pitted rust and the entire original paint was cracked. After chemical stripping, extensive sandblasting, 2 coats of self etching primer was applied. All dents were fixed and filled, 3 coats of epoxy leveling primer applied, guide coated and sanded. Prior to the final paint, I wet sanded primer twice. Original single stage enamel was applied, wet sanded and buffed......all together a very very economic paint job and looks great, all work except final spray done by me.
Also original wheels were peeling and faded. I sandblasted them in my cabinet.....took a week! Applied Duplicolor base and clear coat ($15 at pep Boys) and the final product was great- highly recommend it for the money. All black trim was painted with SEM brand trim paint, again highly recommend. Most parts bought through the Wedge Shop including vinyl top which fit great and I highly recommend.
Looks like a nice job all around, congrats.
