  1. #1 What would you pay for a Group 44 replica car?
What would you guys be willing to pay for a replica Group 44 car made from a TR7 coupe?

Of course there are tons of different way you can build it, but lets stick to the basics.

Built 3.5 lt pushing 230-250hp to the wheels with all the accommodating parts i.e. fuel system, ignition system etc.

Ford rear end with rear disc brakes

    Rover Gear box

    Full interior with roll bar

    Coil over front suspension

    Wilwood big front brake kit

Fully painted (either Group 44 colors or anything else)

Wheels to accommodate body kit. i.e. 17x9 front rims and 17x10 rear wheels in a BBS style or comparable wheel.

Of course the full Group 44 body kit.

    Thoughts?

This picture is just for reference. This is Tim Lanocha's Group 44 Replica.

    Thanks
    Clint

Is that this car for sale, or is this take one of our cars and do this to it?

That car is not for sale, but is an idea of what would be the end result.

The idea I am trying to gather is what is a price range people would be willing to pay for a Group 44 replica car that would be built from scratch.

    Thanks

If I had the money for such a thing, I would rather purchase a complete kit and do it myself. I get as much enjoyment out of working on my 7 as I do driving it.

Doing it right, I'd budget about $30k. Purchasing, based on depreciation of race cars, about $20k.

There's just such a limited market for these things....

Yeah, I'd pay $30k no worries for a TR8 Group 44 replica track toy, but I can't say I know anyone else who would.
