I have a Rover 4.6 V8 converted to take a Mallory dizzy (3.9 timing cover) and an SD1 cam - looking for 3.5 SD1 camshaft/valve timing figures sent me googling all the way to this forum. The plan is to use it for as an occassional music for the ears and road and mild offroad use, so the focus is on proper set-up rather than performance black magic. Any ideas for figures for such a combination of hotch-potch parts?

Off to look for a Haynes manual as everyone seems to point the beginners to the Holy Book of Haynes.

    Jekyll,

If you are using the stock SD1 cam then it will be a 1.562 install height. They didnt change it between motors and if you are using the stock springs you will be fine.

Is this the information you were looking for?

    Thanks

Thanks, I was looking for the inlet/exhaust opens/closes figures, sorry if I did not explain myself properly. Someone on another forum came forward with the following info from the BL manual for the S2 SD1:

    IO 30 BTDC
    IC 75 ABDC

    EO 68 BBDC
    EC 37 ATDC

Will use these figures, thanks for coming back to my request!
